Chapter 1: 1997–2004 — Client-Server Developer
I began my career in the late 1990s as a client-server developer, working with technologies such as C, Visual Basic, ASP, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MS-Access. During this time, I gained a solid foundation in structured programming, business logic, and early web integration.
Chapter 2: 2004–2014 — Business Owner & Web Developer
In 2004, I launched my own development business, building custom websites for a range of clients. My toolset included HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, and Photoshop. This period gave me valuable experience working independently, managing client relationships, and delivering full-stack solutions from concept to deployment.
Chapter 3: 2012–2015 — Front-End Developer
As a full-time front-end developer, I worked extensively with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, and Ajax. I focused on building engaging and performant user interfaces, while continuing to contribute to back-end functionality. It was during this time that I began seriously considering a shift toward deeper server-side development.
Chapter 4: 2016–2021 — Back-End Developer
With a clear vision, I transitioned into back-end development, sharpening my skills in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, and Ajax. I became increasingly focused on building scalable APIs, integrating legacy systems, and ensuring data integrity and performance on the server side.
Chapter 5: 2021–Present — Drupal Developer
In recent years, I’ve specialized in Drupal development, contributing to enterprise-level applications and public sector platforms. Working primarily in PHP, SQL, and JavaScript, I’ve developed custom modules, supported migrations, upgraded legacy Drupal systems, and built integrations with third-party services.
Chapter 6: The Next Phase — AI-Assisted Development
AI-assisted software development. Currently I'm developing APIs against sample databases with AI assist. Weeks turn into days, development-wise. Upcoming: AI-Assisted Drupal development. Looking forward to bringing my skills and experience to an organization where I’d mesh well.
Career Summary
Each chapter of my career reflects a deliberate progression — from client-server programming to full-stack web development, to back-end engineering and CMS specialization. My journey highlights experience, mentorship, adaptability, technical depth, and a consistent drive to deliver value.
